Linkedin and Contacting Scrivs

Things are starting to build up in the land of 9rules and Business Logs. We have finally brought Colin Devroe (9rules CTO) on with us for the consulting biz and “merging” with his company Chancecube. So now we have the talent to not only design killer sites, but also the development talent to expand towards better online solutions.

With all that is happening I have recently got back into using Linkedin to expand my contact network. I was highly skeptical of the service when it launched a couple of years ago, but I am starting to see some positives from using it. If you would like to get assimilated into my network you can find me at scrivs(AT)9rules.com.

Also there have been people throwing great ideas around at me and wanting to chat further about the 9rules Network. Feel free to contact me online:

  • AIM: webscrivs
  • Skype: webscrivs

That is all. My apologies for such a dull Monday entry, but it was needed and I am in the middle of moving to a new residence.

  2. Hi, I’ve just sent you a LinkedIn invitation.

I think business networking is a very powerful tool, of course it requires lots of time and dedication, but you get to know many interesting people and could find new work opportunities.

    Regards!

  3. Michael: It really was all a coincidence since I am doing research on a specific topic and I am finding many of the people use Linkedin for their resources. Add that to your request and you have a renewed interest in Linkedin.

    Keep the connections coming!

  4. I’ve been a member there for quite some time, but have never really used it much. It’s always seemed like a great idea, but thus far I just haven’t gotten around to taking advantage of it. Link me up too!

  10. God, if I talk about LinkedIn anymore, I’ll fall over. Facebook, LinkedIn… damnit, why am I not talking about these things and I work at/was supposed to work for the companies… So yeah, endorsements anybody? :p

(Sorry Scrivs, my more meaningful comment is at the above guy’s site. :p)

  11. While we talk a lot about the advanced uses on the site (to find an expert, job candidates, client, job, business partner, etc.), we’ve found the following four uses appeals to the broadest set of LinkedIn members:
    1) Re-connecting with old colleagues and seeing what they are up to now
    2) Having a self-updating online address book for email addresses
    3) Looking up people before a meeting
    4) Browsing to see who their connections know
