SotD: Leihu
I love illustrators. The ones I meet are weird as hell, but their creativity has no bounds it seems. Give them an idea and they will come up with an illustration. Give an illustrator a website and if he happens to have even a smidgen of good design skills lots of times you end up with a killer site and that’s what you get with James Mathias’s Leihu.
I dig the color scheme, typography and structure and after that there isn’t much else you need to like. Okay, okay yeah there are more pieces to a site, but if you nail those pieces things become a lot easier. This is graphical bliss for me.

In my opinion he doesn’t get nearly enough credit for his creativity. Glad to see he’s now getting a little bit from his latest reboot.

I can’t say more than; I agree!

This was in my top four ‘reboots this year - no mean feat considering however-many-hundred entries there were. Such a fabulous site. :)

Definitely agree with you Ryan. He’s been around for a while now, with both illustrations and design, yet he doesn’t seem to be that known. Shame on you all!

Better late than never I suppose.

Great Design and Illustrations.
Don’t call me too harsh but I wonder why most of these reboots opt for XHTML 1.1 and end up failing with W3C validation ?

The idea is here and here comes the illustrations. Both the illustrations and the idea are great.
Nice site!

Wow, well, thank you Paul I really appreciate what you’ve said about my site.
And thanks to Ryan, Alexander, Daz, Chris, Lakshan and Anna I really appreciate the support and props, it makes a weirdo feel good :)
@Lakshan, leihu.com most likely doesn’t validate because I haven’t gone through the whole site and made the proper changes and fixes yet, I just need to find some time, it’s been very busy since the reboot, so I apologize, it will validate at some point.

@James: Hope it will validate soon, until then cheers.
