Your Favorite Color
Well I really did have my writeup on Craiglist ready to push out the door, but I saw this comment from Kevin stating:
It’s getting to the point where the only reason I click on the whitespace feed anymore is because I’m curious about what you’re going to bitch about or badmouth today. Cheers.
So of course I didn’t want him to think that all is not happy and wonderful in the land of Whitespace and decided that since it is Friday I would ask a simple question to help me and others out. What’s your favorite color?
As you may or may not have noticed my color choices basically runs from black, white and red (with some gray, but that’s like black/white) so I figured it’s a good time to have my eyes opened up to others. Or maybe everyone likes red, but just a different shade than #900. I realize not everyone can like the colors that shit out of a rainbow like Rundle (wait till you see some of the new 9rules colors…) does, but I know your tastes have to be better than mine so why don’t you share your favorite color (in hex or RGB values please) so we can all get some new favs.

My favourite colour is #f0f
Yes, I know im an oddball. I only use it to put a border around elements im currently working on in CSS. It doesn’t really look good in websites.

I’m currently using #ACA000 along with #000784 and #840703 in a site design. But the #ACA000 is migrating (along with a lighter shade, #EEECCC) into other designs as well.

But I like so many!
#669 is probably my most top-est colour in the whole wide web.

Today, my favorite colors are pink, orange, red and purple…
They are the colors of the meds my son and I are taking to keep our strep throat and allergies under control.

Pills are good. Sick is bad. Hope you get better real quick Mark.
And pink is definitely Davidson’s favorite color.

Really interested in that one!

#FF6600, but only because it compliments 990000 and black, white and grey so well.

I’ve got two favorites:
Green for the money, gold for the hunnies.

Wow, it’s Taylor! Never thought you would show up and comment on my site. Especially during school. You always were a risky kid like that. Tell your teacher I said what up.

A vicious loud pink/purple is my colour of the season.
By Alan O'Rourke on September 9, 2005 11:49 am
Scrivs - notice I said that I still click on the whitespace feed. So read into that what you want. ;-)
By kevin on September 9, 2005 12:23 pm
Any shade of pink, but at the moment especially #F7596C.
By Sara White on September 9, 2005 12:26 pm
It’s all good Kevin. I take things in stride. Just trying to please the audience :-)

I don’t really have a favorite color, but lately I’ve been working with #DC659B and #444 a lot.
By Steven Ametjan on September 9, 2005 12:53 pm
Dusky purple (#a375d2), slate blue (#3c78b2), sea green (#a7e2e3), yellow (#ffc), red (#c03)… bright colors in general make me happy.
By Jennifer Grucza on September 9, 2005 1:02 pm
Got to love the subtle “i think it’s whiteness” of #eee or #f6f6f6. :)
By Bryan on September 9, 2005 1:47 pm
Red it is, and red it will always be — the brighter the better (#A80D0D). Sometimes, however, I do get distracted by spring green.
By Nicole on September 9, 2005 2:11 pm
You had to hype 9rules, didn’t you? Unfortunately I don’t have a favorite color (which is probably why I suck at designing).
By Glen C. on September 9, 2005 2:18 pm
I love earthy colors like: #4D3E2E, #4A5B22, #C8BA90, and #896545.
I’m loving the comments down the side column, by the way. However, when the comments run long and I’ve read them all the way to the bottom, I’d like to see a “Leave a comment” link after the last one, which might just link back up to your h2 tag or something. Just a thought.
And keep on bitching, dude. You’ve been dead-on for the past 2-3 weeks as far as I’m concerned.

#069. Not sure why it appeals to me so, it’s just such a nice color.

Chlorophyll. And #F90.

I love blues, mostly leaning towards the pale blues or royal blues, but not the oh-my-god-it’s-so-blue blue of #00f. #069, #09f, etc..
Graham, aren’t you supposed to be in a meeting about a meeting?
By Graham's former co-worker Jeff on September 9, 2005 3:39 pm
As reseach which I am to lazy to search for now says, adults across the world prefer blue.
By Rimantas on September 9, 2005 3:40 pm
Uhoh, sounds like Graham might be in trouble. Nothing beats reading Whitespace and ditching meetings…or better yet reading Whitespace while in a meeting.
By Scrivs on September 9, 2005 3:44 pm
#c80 and #9a1
By Ryan Latham on September 9, 2005 3:47 pm
Hehe….the meeting was boring anyway. Some crap about “aligning our strategic assets to create e-commerce synergies and form pro-active resource pools with an expanded knowledgebase”.
By Graham on September 9, 2005 4:09 pm
Loving browns. Much heart: #eca and #d95. I love blue (#069) too but have done it so much that I’m tired of it.
By Jessica Ledbetter on September 9, 2005 4:13 pm
Bit of an orange fan myself.
By Paul Watson on September 9, 2005 5:07 pm
Which would be #fc0.
By Paul Watson on September 9, 2005 5:08 pm
When I’m hacking Firefox’s skins, I use #fc0 and #f0c as my `highlight’ colours to find things.
I’m also hard at work copying the selection ring from OSX, so I guess I also have a thing for #92badf.
By stilist on September 9, 2005 5:16 pm
Mine is regal blue.
Sorry, didn’t want to find the exact shade, as a hex.
By Jonathan Holst on September 9, 2005 5:22 pm
I like blues, but #09C is my absolute favourite. It reminds me of the 50s.
By Jough Dempsey on September 9, 2005 6:30 pm
Huge fan of #FF9900. Here’s why.
By Jeff Clark on September 9, 2005 7:22 pm
Any color around this value:
#0D0C16
If you are looking at a screen a long
time you can see different variations
of this color with hints of blue, gray,
and purple.

Scrivs, being a black man and retired Black Panther, I seem to like the color black when it comes to the web. I never choose #000 though. In order, I lean towards #333, #777, and sometimes #444. I stay away from #666 because thats the Mark of the Beast. Black just isn’t good without a bit of #fff or #eee mixed in the composition.
Outside my personal usage, I like colors like this yellow #ffe, neutralized lime green #76A615, light blue #5F8EDF, and this red #D84D4D. As you can see, I stick with 3-character colors for myself. It was an interest derived from laziness.
By Fernando Dunn II on September 9, 2005 9:47 pm
#BDFF61 This is a color that I am beginning to like. But I do not have a favorite.
By Colin D. Devroe on September 9, 2005 9:56 pm
Just plain simple #6699ff, because it matches the blue translucent inflatable couch we’re getting for our office… :-)
By Martin on September 10, 2005 3:34 am
#fff
Period.
By Garrett on September 10, 2005 10:30 am
Lime Green! I love wearing it, I love looking at it.
By francey on September 10, 2005 1:21 pm
Ohhh.. That’s a tough one. I do like #FF6600 (So does Aaron! Yay!) But an original one is an OAK Brown: #432819; I don’t really have one picked out so I just picked that. I would put that together with a: #576A31 Avocado green and a Lime green, something along the line of Colin’s #BDFF61 — but again I don’t have one picked.)
That’s the colour scheme I’ve always wanted to put down — though I odn’t know if I ever will.
By Chris Mewhort on September 11, 2005 6:29 am
BTW, is about.html, or contact.html working for other people? They seem to be down for me?
By Chris Mewhort on September 11, 2005 6:52 am
I’m working with #059 right now and trying to figure out what I should use with it.
so far the set is:
#012, #059, #590, #789, #999
By Raj on September 12, 2005 3:08 am
It’s usually a variation on blue. A nice metallic baby blue right now.
By Olly on September 12, 2005 12:03 pm
I like a good British Racing Green, like #024930
By David on September 12, 2005 1:59 pm
for some reason #bebebe, shrug, i guess i use a black background a lot.
