Whitespace was started in 2003 by Paul Scrivens, co-founder of the popular 9rules community. Over the years, it successfully established a tradition of discussing and dissecting business, design and web++. On May 17th, 2006, Scrivs announced Whitespace as an independent site from 9rules under a new domain- Wisdump. A year later Paul put the site up for sale.

On June 21st, 2007, the entry “The Legacy of Paul Scrivens“ announced the change in ownership. Wisdump had been acquired by Splashpress Media. Splashpress is the owner of several popular blogs, such as Performancing, The Blog Herald and Tubetorial.

On November 2nd, 2007, it was time for another sharp turn for Wisdump. Still owned by Splashpress, but now with designer and blogger Thord Daniel Hedengren at the helm. He started off by posting “Filling some big shoes, or I’m taking over Wisdump”.

On April 1st, 2008, Wisdump again took another sharp turn, this time with Thord passing on the reins to designer Sophia Lucero. And no, it wasn’t an April Fools’ Joke. (She, however, posted about the silliness of April Fools’ on her intro article.)
